Your opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us challenge the status quo and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

Schwab’s Digital Assets team is building secure, scalable capabilities that expand how clients can access cryptocurrency, tokenized assets, and other blockchain-based financial products. As Director of Digital Asset Custody, you will define the product strategy and roadmap for the custody capabilities that safeguard digital assets throughout their lifecycle.

You will translate client, business, technology, operational, regulatory, and risk needs into clear product requirements and delivery priorities. Working across product, technology, operations, cybersecurity, legal, compliance, risk, finance, and external providers, you will guide decisions involving wallet infrastructure, transaction authorization, blockchain connectivity, asset servicing, reconciliation, controls, and operational resiliency.

Your Product Management, Problem Solving, Stakeholder Management, and Adaptability skills will help the organization navigate technical complexity, evolving requirements, and competing priorities while delivering secure, reliable client outcomes.

What you have

Required qualifications

7+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, platform product management, custody, brokerage, banking, payments, or financial-services technology.

Experience owning complex digital-asset custody or cryptography platform capabilities across strategy, requirements, delivery, launch, monitoring, and controls.

Knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain concepts, including wallets, addresses, private keys, transaction signing, blockchain networks, tokens, and smart contracts.

Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and key management, including private-key protection, hardware security modules, access controls, segregation of duties, and secure key recovery.

Experience translating technology, operational, risk, and regulatory needs into product roadmaps, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery priorities.

Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives involving technology, operations, legal, compliance, risk, cybersecurity, finance, and third-party providers.

Demonstrated Problem Solving, Stakeholder Management, written communication, sound judgment, and attention to detail in an evolving environment.

Preferred qualifications

Familiarity with major digital-asset custody platforms and infrastructure providers.

Knowledge of blockchain transaction monitoring, wallet screening, sanctions controls, travel-rule considerations, and fraud-management processes.

Experience with asset onboarding, network integrations, transfers, reconciliation, staking, forks, airdrops, or other digital-asset lifecycle events.

Familiarity with token standards, tokenization frameworks, and smart-contract administration.

Experience evaluating third-party technology providers, defining service requirements, or managing critical provider relationships.

Experience presenting product decisions, risks, trade-offs, and recommendations to senior executives or governance committees.

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
