At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thinking meets creative problem-solving, helping us challenge the status quo and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on-site in the specified location(s).

As a Reliability Engineering Lead within Cross Enterprise Services Site Reliability Engineering, you will drive the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of mission-critical applications and platforms. This is a Lead Individual Contributor (IC) role that requires deep technical expertise, hands-on execution, and the ability to influence engineering decisions across multiple teams.

You will provide hands-on technical leadership across application and infrastructure design, cloud operations, production support, observability, incident management, deployment automation, capacity planning, and operational risk detection. You will partner with engineering, operations, release management, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available technology solutions.

Using your strong systems engineering, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, you will lead critical incident response efforts, identify and mitigate operational risks, and develop automation solutions that improve efficiency and system reliability. You will also mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and champion modern Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and AI-driven DevOps practices across the organization.

Leverage AI-enabled DevOps capabilities to enhance support processes, monitoring, and platform reliability.

Influence architecture and engineering decisions across multiple teams.

5+ years of experience configuring, deploying, supporting, or migrating cloud-based applications.

Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), observability, incident management, and platform reliability.

Experience with message-based integration and event-driven architecture.

Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-driven DevOps practices and automation to improve operational efficiency, application reliability, and platform performance.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose critical production issues and implement effective solutions.

Experience with PowerShell scripting, Windows administration, Windows Server, and IIS.

Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices and Agile methodologies.

Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, influence stakeholders, and drive outcomes as a senior individual contributor.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience applying DevOps practices to automate application deployment, testing, monitoring, and operational support.
