We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Truck Driver to join our team! This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys being on the road, and takes pride in playing a key part in keeping operations running smoothly.

As a Truck Driver, you will drive a diesel-powered truck and trailer combination to pick-up, transport, and deliver scrap metal in a timely manner focusing on safety and customer service. You will play a critical role in ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining accurate logs, and adhering to all DOT regulations and company safety standards. You’ll also work closely with dispatch and field teams to coordinate schedules and support overall operations. 

Your attention to detail, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety will be essential in delivering exceptional service and keeping projects on track.

Responsibilities

• Hook and unhook trailers from tractor.

• Inspect trailers/truck's for defects and make sure they are in safe operating condition before, during, and after trips. The driver must perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections. Noting all defects on a DVIR so repairs can be completed.

• Check shipping paperwork to determine if all information is correct.

• Drive the truck to and from its destination in accordance with complying and company policies.

• Apply knowledge of commercial driving skills by maneuvering vehicles at varying speeds in difficult situations i.e.: inclement weather, and/or tight loading and unloading areas.

• Ensure that all shipping documentation required to move the product is available for inspection and that the appropriate paperwork accompanies the shipment when delivered.

• Maintain records required by the company.

• Maintain on a daily basis the proper handling and accurate completion of all necessary paperwork related to truck operation and scrap movement.

• Perform all duties in accordance with the company policies and procedures.

• Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment.

• Report hazards noted in route.

• Promptly report delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions, or other emergencies relating to pick up or delivery of product.

• Professional representation of the Company and the trucking industry through responsible driving and customer service is a must.

• Ability to read, write, and interpret the English language sufficient to communicate with law enforcement, and company personnel. You        must be able to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. You must have working knowledge of vehicle safety control systems.

Qualifications

Must be able to pass a Drug Screen.

You must have knowledge of safe driving, perform pre trip and post trip inspections. You must meet the requirements set forth regarding reference checks, and company policy procedures.
