Saved job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security is looking for an experienced Compliance Strategy Manager to drive compliance solutions and strategic trade projects in support of AWS's expanding global businesses. As a compliance leader in a fast-paced environment, you can expect to leverage your import/export and regulatory knowledge to translate complex issues into opportunities. Alongside our growing team, you will use a combination of subject matter expertise and business acumen to think outside the box and influence direction. You can expect to make an impact by executing core functions such as; conducting due diligence to identify compliance requirements, recommending and implementing control mechanisms to mitigate risk, and diving deep into program specific requirements to define compliance solutions. You may successfully balance moving fast to unblock short-term issues with our long-term needs from a compliance, strategic and financial perspective. This role includes interacting with and influencing a variety of internal and external stakeholders including AWS Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, Tax, Public Policy, Data Center Operations and other partners.

This position will report to the Senior Manager, Global Strategy and Product Compliance within the Global Trade and Product Compliance (GTPC) team for AWS.

Key job responsibilities

• Operate as focal leader for customs related input for AWS expansions, emerging programs and strategic initiatives

• Proactively identify compliance requirements, risks and manage mitigations by establishing policies, processes, and mechanisms

• Work cross-functionally to help achieve execution against regulatory requirements and internal policies

• Deep dive trade topics including customs valuation, duty mitigation, various supply chain models and complex trade barriers (product compliance, licenses, encryption and certification)

• Drive compliance program integration with AWS business teams and supply chain

• Drive adoption of Artificial Intelligence-driven compliance solutions to scale program effectiveness, accelerate identification of compliance gaps, and enable rapid rollout of new compliance capabilities across global operations.

• Develop and oversee change management and nearly continuous process improvement, including input to audit and oversight mechanisms
