Flowserve is seeking an entrepreneurial, high-impact Americas Business Development Manager to drive market penetration and revenue growth across North America and Latin America. As a dedicated commercial hunter, you will spearhead new customer acquisition, key account cultivation, and strategic market entry across medium-high (dry) and rough (liquid ring) vacuum pumping systems. Reporting to the Global Vacuum Business Development Lead, you will serve as the commercial subject matter authority—identifying white-space opportunities, unseating incumbent technologies, and capturing market share in high-growth industrial and high-tech sectors.
This position offers flexible remote/hybrid location options across North America, linked to any regional Flowserve facility, with preferred hubs in California or North Carolina.
Key Responsibilities
Lead commercial hunting initiatives across the US, Canada, and Latin America to capture new OEM, EPC, and end-user accounts across target industrial process and high-tech sectors.
Develop and execute comprehensive market-entry and account-penetration strategies for medium-high vacuum (dry screw, roots blowers) and rough vacuum (liquid ring) portfolios.
Apply 80/20 commercial focus to identify, map, and nurture high-potential strategic accounts, moving them from initial breakthrough to mature, recurring business.
Partner with regional sales directors, channel managers, and distribution partners to provide vacuum application intelligence, commercial training, and high-impact pursuit strategies.
Deploy consultative and challenger sales methodologies in C-suite and engineering meetings to communicate total cost of ownership (TCO) and displaced legacy technology value propositions.
Interface directly with Global Product Management and New Product Development (NPD) to align product roadmaps, identify acquisition/white-label targets, and support regional commercialization.
Monitor market dynamics, pricing trends, and competitive displacements; utilize data-driven insights to manage funnels, track bookings, and forecast growth.
Represent Flowserve at key regional trade shows, industry conferences, and technical committees to build brand visibility and drive inbound pipeline.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physical Science, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated business development, commercial sales, or application engineering experience within industrial vacuum pumping systems.
